ERP offers a 12-Day Agri-SETA accredited course in Permaculture Design that aims to shift perceptions around food and empower participants with practical skills to establish and maintain successful food garden operations using ecologically-friendly and sustainable methods to grow and consume healthier food.

The training is useful for those interested in growing organic food for themselves, their families, friends and communities, including:

Household members
Members of farming co-operatives or associations
Farmers planning conversion to organic, conservation or climate-smart agriculture
NGO workers who promote permaculture, organic farming or conservation agriculture
Early Childhood Development Center practitioners who wish to provide sustainable and healthy eating choices for the children in their care
School educators interested in providing sustainable and healthy eating choices for their learners

Course participants may also register for an optional 5-Day Entrepreneurial Skills training workshop, promoting sustainable livelihoods through commercially viable ventures, where they learn how to turn their food gardens into successful agri-businesses.

To date 586 youth and adult community-members have undergone training in Permaculture Design and Integral Health Promotion with 60 opting for the additional Entrepreneurial Skills training.

Naturally grown, toxin-free food gardens have been established at 8 beneficiary ECD Centers and many more food gardens are now operational on the community household level.
